Dental Bridges Missoula, MTWhen you have a tooth or several teeth missing in a row, our office at Roth Family Dentistry can repair it with a bridge. A bridge uses a false tooth, which is referred to as a pontic, to help close the gap. It is held in place by the teeth next to it. Several different types of bridge procedures can be used. Our staff has the professional expertise to help you decide which procedure will be best for closing your gap. Traditional BridgeThe most common type of bridge is a traditional dental bridge. This procedure uses a false tooth which connects to two crowns on either side of it. The crowns will be placed over the abutment teeth, which are the teeth on both sides of the gap, and cemented in place. This helps to cover the missing teeth and provide full functionality for chewing and biting. Cantilever BridgeWhen you only have one viable tooth next to the area where your missing tooth or teeth are, we may need to improvise and use a cantilever bridge. This type of bridge uses a similar procedure to a traditional dental bridge but only requires one abutment tooth to be used. This is less sturdy than a traditional bridge, but if maintained properly, it can be effective in restoring the functionality of your missing tooth. Maryland BridgeA Maryland dental bridge works in the same way as a traditional bridge does and utilizes the two abutment teeth in your mouth to help secure the bridge. However, it does not use dental crowns. Instead, a framework, which is made of either metal or porcelain, is bonded to the back of these teeth to keep the bridge in place. This is less commonly used, but it is a viable option if you do not want crowns covering your teeth. Implant Supported BridgeAn implant-supported bridge is considered to be a stable and strong bridge. This procedure requires us to surgically implant a tooth or teeth into place in an area where two or more teeth are missing. First, in the area of a missing tooth, we will put a placeholder, which will eventually fuse with your jawbone. We then place a dental crown over the placeholder. The crown will either act as a pontic for a cantilever bridge or can attach at the other end to another implant or tooth to create a traditional bridge. It takes several months for this process to be completed since the permanent crown cannot be placed until the implant is fully recovered. How Much Will Dental Bridges Cost? The overall cost of a bridge is dependent on several factors, including the number of teeth that need to be replaced, the materials used, the procedure’s complexity, and any additional oral problems that need to be addressed first. It will also depend on if you have insurance and which type of bridges they cover. Our office will work with you to help determine the overall price range for you. However, it can cost anywhere from $1,500 to $15,000 for a dental bridge. If you have missing teeth, Roth Family Dentistry can help you obtain a reliable dental bridge.
